Urgent Services HQ
The owner of the company came to us to design their new headquarters in an empty shell in a recently finished development.
The empty office space was 160m2 - unfinished to bare block-work and concrete.
The brief included a mezzanine, office and meeting rooms and open plan collaborative spaces all adding to an additional 75m2
The overall headroom was 4.5m making it very tight for a fully functioning mezzanine especially with all of the exposed pipework on the ceiling which created pinch points for the second level and the 2m headroom as needed for compliance to the building regulations and the escape routes requirements.
We commissioned a 3D point-cloud laser-scan survey so we could be absolutely sure of the headheight. Combining the point-cloud in our BIM model we had to work to millimeter accuracy
From there anything we designed we checked against real site dimensions in realtime through the point-cloud and ensured full compliance at all times. The result was to-the-millimeter accuracy.
