Upper Richmond Road

After two failed planning attempts for a two storey and a single storey dwelling on the premises, the owner came to us to provide a fresh approach to the design.  We carefully analysed the restrictions of the site and the previous concerns of the planning officers. We designed a detached 2 bedroom home, over two storeys, based on the 'japanese' approach to small sites, making light and internal introverted open spaces as the principal factor of the design, while respecting the materials and character of the context area and the neighbouring rear garden structures. The approved final scheme is a bright contemporary residence, making full use of the space and maximising the value of the property
